Princeton New Jersey is home to the famous Princeton University. Every year, thousands of young men and women converge on the college campus to begin the next chapter of their lives.
Though anyone from the area will tell you that Princeton, NJ is not just a college town. There are some things only a local would understand.
If you are taking the train here and ask a station attendant where to catch the “Princeton Shuttle”, do not be surprised if you get a funny look. Locals call the train that drops you off right next to campus the “Dinky”.
Area natives would not be caught dead using the word sandwich. It’s a hoagie! And it would be a mortal sin to not to grab a hoagie from Hoagie Haven, the best shop around these parts.
To the people of Princeton, Einstein wasn’t just some historical figure, he was one of their own. Same goes for professor John Nash of “A Beautiful Mind” fame. Both men have strong roots in this Jersey borough.
Like any other town in America, Princeton has its own unique style, flair and great places to visit. Which is a big part of the reason tens of thousands of people love calling it home.
